Recapping the Success of the Hackquarters Proptech Challenge

On 20 October, the Hackquarters Proptech Challenge concluded, marking a significant milestone in the landscape of property technology. In partnership with Gold Partners Rönesans and Eoffice, this startup challenge gathered some of the most promising startups and influential corporate partners in the Proptech industry for an unparalleled collaborative experience.

The event aimed to serve as a fertile ground for startups operating in various Proptech verticals—from Smart Real Estate Management and Sustainability to Fintech and Blockchain. It provided a unique platform for these startups to pitch their innovative solutions, engage in meaningful dialogues, and potentially form lasting partnerships with leading construction and real estate companies.

We received over 90 startup applications, indicating the widespread interest and enthusiasm for Proptech innovations. Of these, 18 startups were shortlisted into our pipeline after preliminary rounds, and ultimately, 10 were selected to pitch their solutions during the event. The global appeal of the challenge was evident, with applications pouring in from over 20 countries, showcasing the worldwide resonance of the Proptech industry.

Event Highlights

The event was kicked off by Kaan Akın, Founder & CEO of Hackquarters, who shared the program's goals, benefits, and timelines and provided an insightful outlook on the Proptech market landscape.

After the opening speech, Ten startups took the stage to pitch their groundbreaking solutions, showcasing their vision for transforming the property technology landscape.

Fireside Chat: Global Proptech Industry Trends and Perspectives

Moderated by Sabina Babayeva, COO of Hackquarters, the panel featured insights from Menno Lammers, Chief Impact Officer at Proptech for Good, Mete Varas, Founder of ME Proptech Initiative, and Yağmur Yaşar, General Manager at Rönesans Gayrimenkul. They explored pivotal topics such as sustainability, urban development, and the future of workspaces in the real estate industry.

Menno discussed the challenges and opportunities in implementing sustainable Proptech solutions. He also talked about the importance of change management in successfully adopting new Proptech innovations.

Mete emphasized the role of Proptech in creating more innovative and efficient urban developments and shaping the future of workspaces.

Yağmur elaborated on how Rönesans Gayrimenkul integrates cutting-edge Proptech solutions into their business model and spoke about their approach to sustainability, particularly in shopping mall operations.
