As Hackquarters, bringing together the entrepreneurs in the startup ecosystem and the institutions trying to reach the entrepreneurs is one of our tasks. Under these circumstances, we always share programs that support such initiatives either worldwide or in Turkey. The Nutrition Greenhouse incubator program organized by PepsiCo globally was actually a comprehensive support package that PepsiCo gives to the enterprises that have the potential to become a competitor in the future or that entered into the radar of PepsiCo. In this package, PepsiCo promises the chance to collaborate with "gardeners", those who keep their nose to the grindstone in the food ecosystem. This program also offers the chance for startups to work with PepsiCo executives and a grant of €20,000.PepsiCo will choose the initiatives in the Nutrition, Performance, Lifestyle and Purpose categories. We are sure that PepsiCo will support the selected participants to the fullest. You can find more information about the program in the press release below or on the program website.

PepsiCo Continues to Support Future's Food and Beverage Brands with the Incubator Program

With the incubator program Nutrition Greenhouse, PepsiCo prepares to give a grant of 300,000 Euros as well as awards to nutrition-oriented enterprises.

May 16, 2018 – PepsiCo's incubator program Nutrition Greenhouse, launched to discover and support groundbreaking initiatives in the food and beverage industry, started receiving applications for its second year. Within the scope of the program, 20,000 Euros of funding will be provided to 10 emerging enterprises, whose products target the European market in the field of nutritional products.

The selected initiatives will also have the opportunity to work with experts in Quaker, Alvalle, Sunbites and Tropicana, which are among the leading brands of PepsiCo. Brands with sales volumes of 5 million Euros or less can apply until June 11, 2018 at www.nutritiongreenhouse.com.

The selected entrepreneurs will be able to benefit from the 6-month mentoring program, as well as the 20,000 Euro in initial grant funding. Under this program, entrepreneurs who will have one-on-one meetings with PepsiCo managers will be able to overcome the difficulties that they will face by taking advantage of the managers' sectoral experience, thus achieving a rapid growth performance. At the end of the program, the winning company will receive a prize of 100,000 Euros to continue its growth.

The Nutrition Greenhouse program stands out as part of both PepsiCo's mission to open innovation and open collaboration with future creators in the food and beverage industry. Within the scope of the program launched in 2017, eight enterprises reached a growth figure of approximately 10 million Euros, while their sales volumes increased by 4 times during this period. In the second year of the program, a focus on nutritious products as well as healthier products is aimed.

As the sponsor of the program, Juan Ignacio Amat, the Vice President of Nutrition for PepsiCo Western Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, said:

We are delighted to be returning with our Nutrition Greenhouse programme for a second year. Our overarching goal remains the same – to partner with the best and brightest food and beverage entrepreneurs in Europe and give them the opportunity to bring their products to the world on a global scale. The start-up class of 2017 set an exciting and inspiring precedent for this year’s program with strong growth seen across all eight companies. At PepsiCo, we recognize the important opportunity we have to nurture the nutrition brands of the future and shape the direction of our industry, as part of our Performance with Purpose vision. We can’t wait to collaborate with and learn from those that share this vision.”

David Schwartz, PepsiCo Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa Innovation Leader, who will lead the program this year, made the following comments:

Consumers are looking for companies to deliver food and beverages that not only have nutritional value but are also great in taste and convenience more than ever. It’s an exciting time for entrepreneurs in this space and our Nutrition Greenhouse program is designed to inspire and reflect that excitement In year two, we will explore more ways to collaboratively deliver great innovations to the market, with the opportunity to explore potential collaboration with leading retailers and possible trials through e-commerce.”

The PepsiCo Nutrition Greenhouse program will also help early critical businesses focus on business planning, organizational structuring and fundraising, while helping emerging brands realize their market potential. Within the framework of the program, entrepreneurs will be directed to brand optimization, product development, supply chain management, customer acquisition, distribution and many more.
