Startup Spotlight #60 Secure Blink

January 22, 2021

Covid-19 outbreak have been boosting the digital transformation significantly. Most sectors expanded and improved their digital experiences and processes in both the consumer and business side. These all created and increased new concerns including the security and privacy of everything related with digitalisation. Thus, cybersecurity has been gaining much more importance than ever, so in 2020, there were lots of attention to the vertical. Cybersecurity will save this status in 2021 as well. Our spotlight guest this week is Secure Blink. While the broad adoption of open source for development code and the rising number of integration to the applications are at their peak, the incessant demand for a solution with a holistic approach in identifying the underlying risk by reviewing the configurations at the code level of the application is becoming a next day challenge for various organizations, especially when the majority of the cyberattacks are getting successful by exploiting the loopholes easily found in the code level of the application. Secure Blink is a thriving cybersecurity startup from India, solely devoted towards reinventing the cybersecurity landscape by leveraging ingenious technologies in delivering robust products and curated solutions to demystify the organization's trajectory to cyberspace. Currently, they are on the verge of launching their SaaS-based product called Threat Spy, an automated application security management that primarily functions in the area of Threat & Vulnerability, integrating with next-gen technologies like Zero-Trust strategies, User Entity Behaviour Analytics (UEBA). Founder and CEO Tapendra Dev told us about their journey.

Tell us about your team

We are a prolific team of thriving professionals coming from diverse backgrounds joined in the pursuit of reinventing cyberspace. Our core team-mates having several years of relevant industry-based experience in their respective domains, are industry leaders, multi-skilled, visionaries. The team consists of OSCP certified professionals, Data Scientists, Cybersecurity Researcher & Product Engineers from the relevant field under one roof.

When and why did you found your startup?

Secure Blink was incepted in 2019 with an aim to replenish the underlying loopholes that are immune to deter by the existing cybersecurity solutions available in the current marketplace and to anaesthetised the inevitable malicious intent of cyber intruders that eventually poses a serious threat in the entire application of the organization comprises of numerous intellectual asset. Moreover, it offers curated and refined solutions that predict critical vulnerabilities while ensuring threat incident responses by working at the code level of the system by scanning for the system abnormalities. This approach is more feasible to serve the purpose by introducing the native ML model trained on the advanced algorithms fed with over a million vulnerability datasets, thoroughly analysed to predict the potentialities of cyber-attacks in compliance with Zero-Trust strategies in a system. It is thereby empowering security owners of the organization to easily extend the surveillance and visibility across their entire application portfolio without zero-requirements for maintenance.

What are your key and unique features?

Our product, ThreatSpy, aims at the application security of an enterprise by discovering the existing & potential vulnerabilities and patching them along with Detailed Reporting. It is developed on the native Machine Learning model meticulously trained on unsupervised learning and has built on the advanced algorithms that generate assessment reports with full precision. A complete agent-less model features an AI-enabled scanner that offers vulnerability scanning & asset management with real payloads. The feature brings both Light & Deep scanning options, which scan the assets for vulnerabilities, including OWASP Top 10, CORS, Amazon S3 Bucket, and DNS misconfigurations. The ML Model gives instant scores to web applications and servers based on Threat Level. Also, with the User Entity Behaviour Analytics (UEBA) approach, it gives Red Alerts for any critical vulnerabilities and other malicious events. The Threat & Vulnerability management is equipped with an automated application scanner that scans the entire system at regular intervals with a scan scheduling option. Our Model is purely following the Zero-Trust Strategies by not trusting any inputs irrespective of their source before proper scanning. As far as the solutions are concerned, Secure Blink offers a host of solutions such as Cyber Fusion, which integrates threat response with proactive & preventive actions, securing critical infrastructure in conjunction with current trends. Deep & Dark Web Monitoring service helps visualize system abnormalities over the deep and dark web, prompting the highest form of security. Situational Awareness solutions will help understand cyber affairs around the world, paired with increased strategic intelligence.

Tell us about the numbers that matter to you.

Our native Machine Learning model is offering up to 95% accurate predictions for future cyberattacks that the organization's application is prone to.

We are currently having our own refined database of over 15 million vulnerabilities.

What are your plans for next year and next 5 years?

With Threat Spy, we are primarily devoted towards serving the B2B industries concentrating on sectors like Healthcare, BFSI, EdTech, AgriTech, which are SaaS-based and running on the Cloud Technologies. Our current planning includes a pan-India expansion of our robust product and sustainable solutions after surpassing a certain threshold in the existing user base, gradually focusing on capturing the thriving cybersecurity markets of 'Tier l' Indian cities from the first quarter(Q1) of 2021. And in the later stage of the fourth quarter (Q4) in 2021, we are also working towards a global expansion by creating a market penetration in the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN),

European Union and North American regions of the globe after further refinements and additional improvements in our model to make it a complete enterprise-ready product.

We are also striving towards building a substantial community of cybersecurity researchers to pursue prevailing cybersecurity awareness among the masses in India in joint alliance with various public and private organizations.<
