Startup Spotlight #78 Agcurate

August 26, 2021

Agcurate provides food & agribusinesses accurate, rich, easy-to-use access to dynamic rural first-mile agri-intelligence while empowering decision making and de-risking investments. They use various satellite imagery stored on the cloud and implement their machine learning algorithms to detect fields, crops, production analytics, sustainability analytics, etc., for the current and past seasons. Osman Baytaroğlu, the co-founder and CEO of Agcurate told of their aim and contribution to the agricultural business.

When and why did you found your startup?

Agcurate a solution for the ongoing problem of unpredictable crop production and highly volatile food prices in our home country, Turkey. As we dug deeper into this problem, we discovered that our food is being cultivated across vast farmlands in remote rural areas globally, and neither the consumers nor agribusinesses are well-informed of the farmlands and supply. The current first-mile data sources (physical, on-site investigation, fragmented documentation) are limited, out-of-date, lacking accuracy, or not connected to derive insights for various use cases. This decreases the visibility and transparency of the supply chain. We envision a more transparent and resilient supply chain, strengthening food security, and empowered farmers worldwide.
