Sustainable Growth Program Demoday

Run by Hackquarters with the partnerships of HSBC and Türkonfed, Sustainable Growth Program is a 6-month accelerator for social entrepreneurs, aiming to bring solutions for at least one of the UNDP’s Sustainable Development Goals. Sustainable Growth Program received 130 applications. The program set the pipeline for 15 startups, then accelerated 5 of them. 104 hours of mentorship, more than 75 hours of training & workshops were delivered in total. Selected startups in the program got the chance to introduce themselves publicly through 4 meetups.

Demo Day was conducted online at Zoom, started with the speeches of Selim Kervancı, HSBC Turkey General Manager, and Ozan Diren, Türkonfed Deputy Board of Directors. Kaan Akın, Hackquarters CEO and Founder outlined the flow of the program and what was achieved so far by the entrepreneurs.

Welcome speeches are followed by the outstanding keynote speaker Itır Erhart, who is the co-founder of Açık Açık and Adım Adım Associations. The most exciting part of the Demoday is startup pitch where alumni startups are showing off the growth and accomplishments during the program. To seal the progress 2 fireside chats will be presenting success of Mana, Damla Özenç moderated by Ece Başay, Facebook; and E-cording, Mert Karslıoğlu moderated by Kaan Akin.

Blindlook

Blindlook is a food and restaurant solution for blind people. It makes the restaurant and its menus accessible for the blind. It aims to make the entire social life accessible for all disability groups step by step.

Composeit

Composeit takes organic agriculture into houses by building ergonomic and functional compost bins. The vision is focusing on promotion of zero waste living, using food waste and producing own compost soil.

Ecording

E-cording is a social enterprise that creates solutions to trigger and increase environmental awareness. Its operations cover the usage of drones for planting trees in hard-to-reach areas. Ecording launched #evdekalormani (stay at home) social campaign

Mana

In Mana, unique handmade products (from organic raw materials) are produced and sold by women. Mana has launched a new product #rainbowkit and donated revenue for a women association.

Mumo

Mumo provides its product to handle the issues in sustainable food storage. The product is worth attention since it is manufactured from fully organic cotton fabric and suitable for 100 times reuse.
