As Business Development Manager of TurSEFF - Turkey Sustainable Energy Financing Facility - Selen is focused on generating new projects pipeline and building strategic networks/cooperations for TurSEFF’s finance instruments. TurSEFF, is a programme developed to provide financing for Sustainable Energy and Resource Efficiency investments in the public and private sectors. The Facility has been developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and has been supported by the European Union (EU) since 2010. She has 19 years of experience in energy business including power plant investments (natural gas, hydro, solar, wind and biogas for more than 2200 MWs), electricity trading, electricity market and engineering & design; approaching energy projects from technical, financial, legal and commercial point of views. She consulted foreign major renewable energy companies and international financial institutions. Moreover, as a chemical engineer with process background she developed business for 1 GW/year integrated PV manufacturing plant and collected considerable amount of sustainability investment projects of resource efficiency in various sectors of industry to be financed by the IFIs. She has wide customized network of sectoral business associations, global brands with manufacturer supply chains, NGOs, development agencies, OIZs, private companies and sectoral event organizers worldwide. She has been active in the Turkish entrepreneurial ecosystem, mentoring various renewable energy start-ups and working to advance the role and recognition of women working in the energy sector in Turkey and globally.
