Hagelson produces high-purity and quality plastic raw materials from recycling waste carpets with the technology it has developed.⁠ Merve Demir, the business development engineer at Hagelson revealed their purpose and future plans.

When and why did you found your startup?

It caught my attention in an article I read while I was researching for my Recycling class in 2014. I learned that carpets, used by almost everyone in our country and the world we are all not aware of that are made of plastic materials, are not recycled, I thought that I should do this job.

We are a team of 7 people. Soner Alayurt is the founder of the company, Merve Demir, our business development engineer, and 5 blue-collar employees.

What are your key and unique features?

Carpets consist of multi-layered composite structures. It is very important to separate the plastics in recycling. Thanks to the Polymer engineers in our team, we ensure recycling waste carpets with the technology we have developed, unlike the classical recycling methods.

Tell us about numbers that matter to you.‍

Firstly, the amount of data that is annotated. Current total accessible data annotators. (mobile app users). Conversions from the sales pipeline are also an important stage. Inbound reach/outbound reach numbers have a critical impact on our brand.

What are your plans for the next year and the next five years?

We will start importing waste with inward processing. By increasing the production capacity, we will increase our plastic production. In the next 5 years, we are planning to open a branch in England and at the same time increase the number of branches in Turkey.
