IoT technologies play a crucial role in Industry 4.0 by enabling seamless communication between devices, machines, and systems, improving efficiency, and reducing operational costs. Moreover, IoT-driven data collection and analysis help businesses make informed decisions, optimize processes, and enhance overall productivity. This week's startup spotlight guest is Wisersense, an end-to-end intelligent machine health monitoring solution to control increased maintenance and energy costs. In line with Industry 4.0 and the trend towards digitalization, it offers monitoring, tracking, remote measurement, and detection of possible faults much earlier for smart factories and innovative city projects. The health of all systems, large and small, in every production stage, especially motors, compressors, fans, pumps, etc., and rotary designs, can be monitored. In this way, many benefits are provided for early detection of problems, improvement in operations and personnel safety, increase in production, decrease in downtime, increase in an end product quality, etc. Program manager Burak Bağcı told us about their story.

When and why did you found your startup?

The health of rotating equipment in various industries today cannot be monitored. As a result of this situation, enterprises' failures in rotating equipment cause severe losses due to their growth over time. The occurrence of unplanned stoppages in production lines with malfunctions in the machines resulted in decreased production, reduced capacities, and approximately 20 percent extra energy consumption. Malfunctioning machines create severe costs for industries. WiserSense is an intelligent machine health monitoring solution that works 24/7.

With IoT sensors and integrated platform software, it offers solutions to maintenance needs in the industry regardless of the sector. WiserSense solutions can be used in all kinds of rotating systems used in the industry. End-to-end and integrated solutions include artificial intelligence, embedded software, and digital twin technologies. This way, faults, and errors are detected before or as soon as they occur and notified via platform software, phone, and e-mail. Thus, a 20% reduction in energy costs, 30% reduction in maintenance costs, 25% increase in production, and 70% reduction in downtime are achieved. In addition to the advanced IoT sensors of its production, it has its own in-house developed platform software.

Tell us about your team

The founders have worked in substantial corporate companies and previously established 3-4 startups. They know what is right and what is wrong from their past experiences. They are entirely motivated for WiserSense to become a global brand and company.

Our team is currently 25 people. The management team is experienced and dynamic in the field, knowing the startup ecosystem and the industry, including the company's founders. We divide our team into two R&D and Industrial solution sides. We split the R&D into written, electronic hardware, embedded software, industrial design, and programs. Oğulcan Kocamusaoğlu heads the software side as the team leader. Oğulcan has more than 20 years of experience in the sector. The people working in the software, electronically embedded software, programs, and industrial design teams have over five years of experience and come from defense, technology, and startup ecosystems. We categorize the industry solution side as Turkey business development, technical services, and Global Sales. Cem Alaybeyoğlu has over 20 years of experience and has held various senior positions in companies such as Erdemir and Eti Krom and Tuncay Çiftçi, a sales manager with more than 15 years of experience in the sector. We have a Global Business Development Director, Serdar Yurtseven, who is exceptionally experienced in the Gulf and Asia-Pacific regions. We have technical services and an experienced and dynamic sales team who have worked in different fields. In the R&D and Industry solution departments, we have both young and active professionals and specialized people. 

What are your crucial and unique features?

The main features that distinguish WiserSense from competitors, make it different, and make it preferred are its 3rd party integration capability, digital twin developments, production of its hardware in its facilities, technology, and products specialized in motor and robotic arms, and user-friendly software platform supported by artificial intelligence. WiserSense's trademark registration applications have been made. It has unique expertise in the field of Vibration and Vibration. Apart from this, it is a difference regarding technical and know-how accumulation. Well-designed business models and strategies have provided rapid growth momentum.
